Sometimes I miss working in a studio setting; the total control you have over lighting makes it possible to achieve a more glossy, editorial look. While shooting outdoors has it’s own set of challenges, I think working in a studio is more technical.
I now have a space to make a little studio, and I’m thinking about taking the plunge! Starting with a simple grey background and one light, like in the portrait here, would be a great place to start. Being able to offer my clients these studio portraits would set me apart from many of the photographers in the area; creating a product that’s classic yet modern.
