San Diego Family Portraits | Beach Portraits | Solana Beach, CA Photographer

I’m wrapping up the editing on a handful of family portrait sessions from the last couple of weeks and I’m so thankful for all of my family clients! I have so much fun photographing these wonderful families; I especially love seeing the kids grow each year.

Here is a portrait from a recent session of a family I’ve been photographing for three years. I love the cool colors and how the portrait tells a story of togetherness and family love!

The holidays are so wonderful as it’s a time to get the family together; sometimes from different places across the country (or world!) If your family is together for Christmas and you want to document this moment of togetherness, contact me for more information on a portrait session! I have a few spots open the week after Christmas starting on the 27th. Sessions start at $220 and all sessions include retouched digital files.

Happy Holidays!

Head Shots | Executive Business Portraits | San Diego Head Shot Photographer | Solana Beach, CA

It is always a good idea to update your head shot yearly with a professional portrait. Whether you are a recruiter using LinkedIn frequently, a writer, a realtor or really anyone who has an online presence, this portrait is usually someone’s first impression of you. Best to put your best face forward and hire a professional (ahem) to get you looking your best. This is a recent head shot portrait I took; she’s a kind and gorgeous woman who is getting back into the workforce after dedicating her life to raising her kids. I love the way how this portrait shows her personality while looking professional and refined. I’d hire her!

39 Weeks Pregnant Baby Bump Sneak Peek | Fletcher’s Cove, Solana Beach |San Diego Portrait Photographer |

So happy for my friend who had her third child recently. Pregnancy and childbirth is such a beautiful miracle, and I love documenting pregnancy for my gorgeous clients. These were taken about a week before her sweet baby girl arrived! She’ll now always have these photos to look back on as a reminder how amazing her body is and how sweet it was to grow her babies 😉

2016 Holiday Mini Sessions at Fletcher’s Cove Solana Beach | San Diego Photographer

I’ve been busy with some wonderful portrait sessions this fall. This weather has been amazing. Being a photographer in San Diego means I can shoot outdoor session year round! So, I’ve finally locked down two dates for holiday mini sessions. This year I’ll be photographing the mini sessions at Fletcher’s Cove in Solana Beach. It is a great local beach with big cliffs and beautiful stretching coastlines. The sessions will be 20 minutes and also includes 10-15 proofs in an online gallery. You will also receive 3 retouched, full-resolution images to print or use as Christmas cards. Contact me at for availability and to book your session!

Texture | Macro Photography | Solana Beach Photographer

I was drawn to the texture of this tree trunk. All the tiny crevasses; high and low points joined together in darkness and light. When viewed as a macro image, it looks like it could be a birds-eyed view of some earthen landscape. That’s what I love about macro photography: the very minuscule and small becomes big and grand again.

Jona - I absolutely love your website.. Very nice colors & theme.
Did you create this web site yourself? Please reply
back as I’m trying to create my own personal site and would
love to learn where you got this from or just what the theme is called.

EIP - I’ve always thought this is one of the most beautiful and fascinating textures, sort of in between the skin of an older person or the scales of a dragon. It really shows how incredibly old trees are too.
